Besides the folk performances, many foreign visitors also learned how to make traditional and tasty yuanxiao (glutinous rice balls), an essential food of the Lantern Festival.

Jointly held by the press office of Wuxi municipal government, Wuxi Daily, the publicity department of Binhu district in Wuxi and the Taihu National Tourist Resort Zone, the Lantern Festival event in Mashan marks the beginning of the "2016 Love in Wuxi" themed activities.

In 2015, Wuxi invited 600 foreigners from more than 20 countries to experience the charm and culture of Wuxi, including events such as talent contests, talk shows and tourism activities.
