The city of Milan, Italy will be having Expo Milano 2015, running May 1 to Oct 31 and it is expected to attract exhibitors from 147 countries and organizations and around 25 million visitors. The city of Nanjing, Jiangsu province, will play an active role in promoting its culture internationally and a "Nanjing Week" will run from July 7 to 13.
It will use the slogan, "Go to Milan Together" with the main idea of paying tribute to Milan, and showing the beauty of Nanjing, with both government and enterprise support.
Nanjing has a prominent place in Chinese history and culture since it was actually the capital of China during several periods, as is reflected in its name which means "Southern Capital", and the designers of "Nanjing Week" are focusing on its heritage to visualize its history, culture and human spirit, at Expo Milano 2015, which is a good way to promote Nanjing.
It will have a pavilion, exhibitions, and shows that draw from its cultural symbols, such as yunjin brocade and the Ming dynasty city wall and present a cosmopolitan and characteristic Nanjing. The organizing committee says that they planned a special museum for yunjin, a yunjin international fashion show and a Nanjing creativity exhibition. These will be held in landmark venues, such as Expo Park, Expo Door, Piazza of Duke Ortas and Piedmont Museum. A special exhibition for Nanjing - Milan "A Tale of Two Cities" and the Belt and Road initiative will highlight the interaction of the two and stories involving the two and their history and culture.
