This is the season when spring unfolds her brilliant reds, pinks, whites and purples under sapphire skies and a warm sun. The breeze is gentle, the humidity low.

It's also when Shangfang Mountain National Forest Park in Suzhou is offering a "flowers festival", gathering trees of cherry, peach, apricot, and pear blossoms, from March 21 to May 10. Tulips, hyacinth and daffodils are there to join the celebration. Remember to bring your childishness as there're some animals to play with.

The "flowers festival", also called "Flower Fairy Festival", falls on the 12th of Feb on lunar calendar, which is Mar 21 in 2015. Legend has it that Lin Daiyu, who buried fallen flowers in the Chinese epic A Dream in Red Mansions, was also born on this day, which further adds to its charm.

This year, more than 150 species of flowers will take turns to bloom and turn the forest park into a flourishing sea of flowers.
