Sun Chonglin, a student in Changzhou College of Information Technology spent less than 2,500 yuan (US$403) for a 16-day trip to three provinces, namely Guangdong, Hainan and Hubei, during winter break.
Sun started his trip on Feb 20, when he took train to Guangzhou in Guangdong province, and then to Hainan province. In Hainan, he met several college students, all of whom are bike-riding lovers just like him. Together they traveled on rented bikes along the Hainan Island and visited Wenchang, Boao, Sanya and Hongmao county. In Hubei province, Sun Chonglin visited such scenic spots as Hubu Port, Yellow Crane Tower, Wuhan Yangtze River Bridge, Wuhan University and Wuhan Provincial Museum in Wuhan.
Sun Chonglin said that the majority of his travel expense this time was for train tickets, namely over 900 yuan ($145). He stayed at local youth hostels in various places which he booked online in advance. He is very proud that all the money for the trip was earned by him through doing part-time work in the last semester.
