The China-ASEAN Expo features exhibitions, trade and economic activities, and high-level forums, as well as a series of exchanges and cooperation. The Commercial Consul of the Consulate General of Japan in Guangzhou – Tanaka Kazuya – said that many activities impressed him and the most impressive one is China-ASEAN’s cultural exchange activities.

Q: What’s your expectation in attending China-ASEAN Expo?

Tanaka Kazuya: I want to get to know the close cooperation between China and ASEAN countries, and also the participation of these countries in the Expo. We also hope to establish more important business partnerships with China and ASEAN countries and expand our regional market, so I want to look for better opportunities and cooperation for the Japanese market and enterprises in ASEAN and China.

Q: What do you think of Chinese enterprises’ new opportunities in RCEP [Reginal Comprehensive Economic Partnership] markets?

Tanaka Kazuya: I think Chinese enterprises have good opportunities in RCEP markets, especially since there is very great room for trade cooperation and many opportunities between China and RCEP countries; for example, Chinese enterprises can strengthen import and export cooperation with ASEAN countries. Chinese enterprises also enjoy advantages in commodity exchanges with ASEAN countries.

Q: Which impresses you most about the exhibitions, trade and economic activities, as well as high-level forums and exchanges and cooperation in CAEXPO and CABIS?

Tanaka Kazuya: Actually a lot of activities of this Expo impressed me, and the most impressive one is China-ASEAN’s cultural exchange activities. For example, China holds cultural exchange activities with each ASEAN country, respectively, which is very important in my opinion and has a significant role in the promotion of mutual understanding and good cooperation between China and ASEAN.
