Since the day it was chosen as the permanent host city of the CAEXPO, Nanning, capital of the Guangxi Zhuang autonomous region, has become a hub for bilateral exchanges between China and the ASEAN.
Nanning enjoys a history of over 1,680 years. Nowadays, there are 7.07 million people living in the city, which covers a total area of 22,112 square kilometers.
Reputed as the “Green City of China,” Nanning is the best place for human habitation in West China. It has won quite a few awards, including the UN Habitat Scroll of Honour Award and the Dubai International Award for Best Practices to Improve the Living Environment. It is also one of the Top 10 National Eco-Environmental Friendly Cities. A total of 39 percent of the city is covered by trees or grass, and the public green area for each person is 10.29 square meters.
Nanning, as the core of the Guangxi Pan Beibu Gulf Economic Zone, has enjoyed great momentum in economic development in recent years.
Nanning, a city with a long history, rich culture and many beautiful scenic spots, is also a renowned tourism city in China, where the diversified cultural charms of different ethnic groups integrate harmoniously. What's more, the splendid Nanning International Arts Festival of Folk Songs, which is a gala show for the inauguration of each CAEXPO, is held annually here, making the city more attractive.
Nanning International Convention & Exhibition Center
Nanning International Convention & Exhibition Center (NICEC), the venue of the CAEXPO, was designed by GMP (Germany) and covers a total area of 56.7 hectares. Its main building has a total floor area of 152,100 square meters.
The NICEC has 15 exhibition halls of different sizes in its two story main building, which can accommodate 3,360 international standard booths with a total exhibition space up to 48,000 square meters.
The NICEC, with 14 conference halls/rooms of different sizes, is equipped with advanced sound facilities, 10+1 simultaneous interpreting systems, video conference systems, broadcasting systems, security systems, computer systems with Internet access and a press center, making it an ideal venue for various international conferences, business talks and seminars.
