Starting on May 15, Shanghai's Pudong and Hongqiao airports will implement a series of special security check procedures, which will be tougher than regular checks.

Passengers have to go through a new security check including 100 percent explosion detection and 24-hour physical examination.

It is highly suggested that all passengers arrive in airports in advance to avoid delay caused by the special security procedure.

Also, to avoid delays caused by the new security procedure, Pudong and Hongqiao airports have set up more security channels to speed up the process.
