MGM Grand Sanya opens its doors

SANYA, Hainan province - Diaoyutai MGM Hospitality announced the grand opening of its Sanya Resort in Yalong Bay just in time for tourists during the Spring Festival.

MGM Grand Sanya is the company's first non-gaming hotel, as well as its first hotel constructed in the mainland.

MGM Resorts International boasts of a global brand image based in Las Vegas that emphasizes a dining and nightlife culture. Meanwhile, the Diaoyutai State Guesthouse promotes an elegant service philosophy, where foreign leaders have frequently held meetings.

MGM Grand Sanya will host "Wet Republic" daytime pool parties while diners can feast on 12 unique culinary meal options. The hotel is seeking to become the premier provider of food, beverages and entertainment in Sanya.

Guests can also experience a sophisticated evening at AOC Cigar and Wine Bar, or dance the night away to the techno beats at Papillon nightclub. The grand opening of Papillon will be on Jan 20.

DJ Edmund, who has earned recognition for performing all over the Asian club scene, will rock the tropical paradise as the in-house DJ.

The hotel offers a stunning interior and exteriors spearheaded by world-renowned architects from design firms WATG and BBG-BBGM.

Sanya's local elements are integrated with clear geometric lines that border the hotel's surroundings, along with an imposing statue of a larger-than-life golden lion.

MGM Grand Sanya houses 675 creatively-designed guestrooms that include 596 standard rooms, 73 suites, six beach villas with panoramic views, as well as 12 fine dining and world-class meetings and events facilities, a banquet hall accommodating up to 1,500 occupants and tailor-made facilities for a dream wedding.
