A Fijian soldier takes up a position in front of the country's
Parliament house in Suva before other troops entered the building December 6,
2006. Deposed Fiji Prime Minister Laisenia Qarase has called on Fijians to stand
up for democracy, and in what seemed like an act of defiance, senators in his
deposed government held a budgetary sitting in parliament on Wednesday as armed
soldiers patrolled the parliamentary compound. [Reuters]
