It all depends on both people. If one of the partners link emotion to financial practicalities or both partners have different spending habits or values on money then there's a big problem. Sometime in a long relationship these issues will arise when relationships are going through challenges. Many Chinese women think that if a man gives away or entrusts all his money to his wife that's shows true love. This doesn't guarantee a faithful husband nor a financially responsible wife. Money issues should be discussed before marriage and both parties should consider a set monthly allowance each in separate accounts for both their financial freedoms to do with what they want and also a joint account where the big savings go.
