1. Lijiang ancient town
Built in the late Song Dynasty (960-1297) and the early Yuan Dynasty (1271-1368), the town boasts more than 800 years of history. It epitomizes Naxi culture, in particular its buildings. The Naxi people preserve a deep spiritual connection to nature, so the buildings embrace local physical features of the area and are mainly made of stone and wood. The houses absorb other ethnic groups’ traditions and create an innovative style.
Snow-capped mountain vistas, ancient architectureand streets, and the Naxi people and their distinct culture give Lijiang its universal value to mankind. The town can spoil you with its beauty.
