I visited a friend in Shanghai eight years ago but did not have a clue what to expect. I found it similar to London. Fast life, ambitious people, and I loved every minute of it. I decided to bring my work here and I have enjoyed every day since. I would not live in Shanghai again, as it is too westernized for me now. But even after a few years living here, I still get people back home asking me how do I survive? Am I not scared for my safety? I told them there is more chance of starting a fight in a telephone box than getting mugged here.
