If sex is taboo, why are there giant posters of sexy looking people advertising clothes? Why are beautiful women draped over cars at car shows? This is a dilemma: either society accepts sex as a part of life or it represses sexual images, including those showing dancers tossing their hair and posing provocatively, wearing barely-there clothing.
Treating sex as a matter-of-fact part of life is essential to healthy sexual development. Making a big deal out of it, making it taboo, preaching abstinence, or making it an 'in your face' proposition – this all serves to underscore that sex is not a normal physical need or activity, which makes it more enticing. I'm all for the young waiting to have sex but it should be informed sex, if only to avoid sexually transmitted diseases.
