Wheatbaby (China)
I just graduated from university a year ago. I know how it's going with the job market. Now I am not going to tell you how to find a job. I prefer to tell you how do treat your job once you get the chance. I am an English major and I thought well of myself. And then I went to a joint venture for an interview and guess what?
An Italian guy interviewed me and what he said about the job was not the what it was supposed to be at all. It was a bit of a shock for me but he picked me to join his team from among some other experienced interviewees. I don't know why but I guess it was because of my fluent English. But then I found that there are still a lot of things for me to learn. And frustration comes again and again. Why? It was not only about the language, it is about the industry knowledge and working ability and coordination ability, etc., a lot of things put the introvert in me under great pressure. So I was frustrated. And then I was going to leave the place and find a new job. And I thought I might find an easier job and avoid the pressure.
But finally, I realized two things while hunting for a job: 1. You have to pay full attention to the work you're doing if you want to be successful. 2. For each job, even the one that provides you with a lot of free time, there is pressure, more or less. We have to learn to face the challenges and overcome difficulties instead of escaping. Sometimes we believe that something is not possible to achieve. However when you really focus on it, you can do it very well.
In a word, a good start is not necessarily a guarantee for future development. Only hard work and focus and having a positive attitude will help you on the road of success.
