5. Never open the windows.
Unless its a nice day. No matter how hot and stuffy it is inside, just wait until it is a nice day to air your apartment. Sure, pollution probably leaks in anyway, but there is no need to help it get inside. What about the bathroom? I recommend taking short showers so as not to steam up the bathroom and make your apartment humid.
