Background: On June 23, Beijing's Renmin University's website highlighted an attractive female graduate on its homepage, a sharp contrast to its normally dry style.

The woman was lauded as the "goddess of Renmin University," and brought so much traffic to the website that the server collapsed temporarily.

The graduate's picture was circulated widely on Weibo, and a number of college students followed her and posted their own pictures with a card saying, "I am waiting for you at our university."
