Gig of the week: Residence A
Jojo Meyer and Nerve will be taking to the stage at Yugong Yishan on Friday night.

Why? Because I love Residence A, that’s why, and I need to see these guys again; end of discussion. I’ve also seen Me Too before, about a year ago, I’m very interested to see them again. The Power Powder have been making headway in the scene, turning up all over the place, so it’ll be good to see what this new band is coming out they describe themselves as having a classic rock feel, which is always a solid sound, so I hope they prove to be good. Los Crasher is one of the 1980s-style hair bands that are kicking around the city, so they should at least be fun if nothing else. Should be a good show.

My pick: Mao Livehouse

When: Friday, Oct 14 (first band 8:30 pm)

Also playing: Me Too, Raving Radio, Residence A, Los Crasher, The Power Powder

How much: 60 yuan (50 yuan advance)

Elsewhere this week, Australian rockers Arcane Saints take on Mao Livehouse on Thursday (8:30 pm, 40-50 yuan), and Jojo Meyer hits the city with his new project Nerve and is performing on Friday at Yugong Yishan (10 pm, 150-200 yuan). Migratory Bird teams up with rock veteran Zhao Laoda for an intimate show at Jianghu Jiuba on Saturday (9 pm, 40 yuan), while DJ, composer and multimedia artist Dj Spooky will be at Yugong Yishan next Tuesday (7:30 pm, 30-50 yuan).
