The 2017 Zhouzhuang Autism Awareness Charity Appeal was held in Zhouzhuang, Jiangsu province on World Autism Awareness Day, which falls each year on April 2.
The orienteering activity, jointly sponsored by the Zhouzhuang government and Shanghai Jing'an Moon Children Mental Development Training Center, aims to encourage people to practice an ecofriendly and low-carbon lifestyle and raise awareness of autism in children.
A total of 600 people from across China participated in the event.
A series of activities took place throughout the hike, including brewing millet liquor and making tofu, enabling the participants to get to know the water town's unique culture while taking part in the competition.
