A conference held in the Economic and Technological Development Zone in Xinjiang, Uygur autonomous region on Nov 25 established the management committee of the Urumqi bonded zone.
The establishment of the committee indicates that the construction work of the bonded zone will be put into full swing.
The members of the management committee include officials from the Urumqi Economic and Technological Development Zone and the Xinjiang Production and Construction Corps' 12th Division.

Construction of the bonded zone in Urumqi, capital of Xinjiang, started on Sept 19 and the zone is scheduled for operation by July 2016.
Located near the Urumqi Railway Container Center, the zone is expected to cover 2.4 square kilometers only 10 minutes' away from Urumqi International Airport.

Once completed, the zone will serve as a comprehensive platform for bonded processing and logistics and port operations and develop into a center of modern trade, high-end manufacturing and financial service in West China.
The Urumqi Comprehensive Bonded Zone is the third of its kind in Xinjiang. The Alashankou Comprehensive Bonded Zone, the first in Xinjiang, started operations in June 2014.
