A delegation of All-China Federation of Returned Overseas Chinese - headquartered in Beijing - visited returned overseas Chinese citizens and their relatives in Huocheng county, in the Xinjiang Uygur autonomous region, on Feb 3.
The delegation visited four families in poverty and gave 1,000 yuan ($160) of consolation money to each one. The members of the federation talked with Maria, one of the returned overseas Chinese relatives and inquired what they can do to help her improve her living condition.
The delegation also paid a visit to the Daiwure Carpet Co in the county. The company’s president, Ablikemu, is a returned overseas Chinese relative who employed more than 100 laid-off workers and disabled people to help them solve their unemployment problems. The delegation members noted that Ablikemu had tried his best to help others, setting a good example for returned overseas Chinese.
The delegation was led by Zhao Shanshan, the vice director of the federation’s personnel department, with the accompaniment of Kuwantai, the vice head of the county’s government.
