China's richest man and chairman of Wanda Group, Wang Jianlin, is on the speaking roster at the 2016 International Investment Forum (IIF) on September 8.
Wang is also expected to feature on a special edition of CCTV-2's current affairs talk show Dialogue, which will be filmed in Xiamen at the IIF.
The 61-year-old self-made billionaire sits a pretty 18th on the Forbes Rich List and ranks first in China. His personal net worth was estimated to be $33.2 billion as of August 9.
Starting life in 1988 as a real estate company, Wanda has recently expanded its presence into fields of entertainment, sports and finance. Its recent purchase of a majority stake in Hollywood production company Legendary Entertainment for $3.5 billion and the World Triathlon Corp (the operator of the iconic Ironman races) for $650 million has snatched global headlines.
As a savvy and ambitious investor, Wang's speech has been tipped to be the highly-anticipated of the IIF and add volume and depth to the sessions.
Other insightful speakers at the event will include Lin Yifu, former World Bank senior vice president and expert on economic reforms in China; Li Yong, director-general of United Nations Industrial Development Organization; and Gao Hucheng, China's Minister of Commerce.
Running alongside the China International Fair for Investment & Trade (CIFIT), the IIF offers great networking opportunities for business and political elites worldwide.
