Fujian Party Chief's visit to HK, Macao causes a stir

A delegation from Fujian province, led by its Party Secretary You Quan, has excited local officials and enterprises in Hong Kong and Macau, Fujian Daily reports.

Major national and local media outlets all covered You's visit, saying it has greatly encouraged Fujianese who live in Hong Kong and Macao.
You Quan and other Fujian officials have helped Hong Kong and Macao's businessmen get a better understanding of Fujian's tremendous change and enormous market potential, which will attract more business opportunities to Fujian and boost cooperation between Fujian, Hong Kong and Macao, experts say.
The followings are comments by officials and entrepreneurs on the visit.
Carrie Lam (Chief Secretary for Administration of Hong Kong Government): "Fujian has been designated as the core are of the 21st Century Maritime Silk Road, consolidating its place in cross-Straits trade. With preferential policies for the Fujian Free Trade Zone (FTZ), and opening measures pertaining to the Closer Economic Partnership Arrangement (CEPA), the cooperation between Fujian, Taiwan and Hong Kong will lead to an immense market."
Lin Pingji (Board Chairman of Tak Shun Technology Group): "It means a lot that Mr. You came to Hong Kong not long after the inauguration of the Fujian FTZ. This is also a good chance for Hong Kong (to deepen its relations with Fujian). There are so many national development strategies implemented in Fujian, which will definitely encourage Fujianese enterprise in Hong Kong to increase investment in their homeland."

Lin Long'an (Board Chairman of Yuzhou Properties): "Mr. You brought a rich source of information on Fujian's development. I believe the Fujian FTZ will boost the development of enterprises in Fujian and Hong Kong. Take the real estate for example, we can expand our business from pure realty to community financing, logistics, delivery and other services."
Yan Yanling (Chairman of Association of Fujian People in Macao): Fujian people in Macao have always cared about the development of their homeland. We are excited to see the Fujian FTZ, which is good for more convenience in cross-Straits traffic and trades."
Luo Xinglu (Chairman of Federation of Sanming People in Macao): "The visit will propel Fujian and Macao's cultural, economic and trade cooperation. Our federation will strive to play a bigger role in connecting local Fujianese in Macao and promoting trade between Fujian and Macao."
Cai Fangfang (Board Chairman of KingRong International Development Co): "Fujian should take advantage of Hong Kong's role as a center for international finance, service and shipping."

Xu Mingjin (Board Chairman of Xiangbin Group): "Fujian entrepreneurs must seize the opportunities from Fujian's industrial transformation and upgrading as well as improvement of people's livelihood to engage in the FTZ construction."
Huang Huanming (Board Chairman of Mingfa Group): "Fujian authorities have been supportive of Hong Kong-funded enterprises in Fujian. And we are confident that we can make bigger contribution to its social and economic development by improving our technology and service."
