Xiamen imports sauries from Taiwan
(chinadaily.com.cn), Updated: 2014-12-16
Under the full monitoring of Xiamen Customs, the first batch of sauries (a fish similar to needlefish), which was caught by six Taiwanese fishing boats, went ashore in Dongdu Wharf, Xiamen, Fujian province on Dec 12.
The 4,500-ton seafood was instantly packed and frozen into the ships after being caught in the North Pacific fishing area. A favorable policy for Taiwanese goods allowed the import directly to Xiamen without first being landed in Taiwan, which saved time and logistics costs.
Xiamen Customs opened a fast channel for the imported Taiwan agricultural products to curtail the clearance time considering their large quantity.
