The second international academic seminar on Buddhist beliefs will be held in Mount Wutai, Shanxi province, a sacred place for Buddhists in China, according to the chinanews.com on June 12.
Experts and scholars from across the globe, including America, Canada, Italy and Japan, will gather to discuss topics such as the integration of different religions, the effects of Mount Wutai on East Asian counties as well as the communication of the Manjusri belief across Asia.
The six-day event will begin on July 19. In addition to various exchanges, an international institution will be founded for the study of Buddhism and East Asian cultures.
The organizing committee believes the activity will enhance the awareness and communication of Buddhist culture.
Mount Wutai is the most holy of China's four Buddhist mountains and is considered one of the five world Buddhist holy lands.
