Wang Yixing, vice-governor of North China’s Shanxi province, attended the second Forum on China-Africa Local Government Cooperation in Beijing on Nov 10.
On behalf of Shanxi province, Wang described the province’s social and economic development, noting that Africa is an important partner with increasing trade and exchange. Based on strengthened cooperation, Shanxi welcomes investors to focus on the Shanxi-Africa cooperation zone’s construction, auto manufacturing and coal-electricity integrated development.
Meanwhile, the vice-governor stressed that Shanxi is striving to be a hub of coal-based technologies and industries, hoping to expand cooperation with African coal producers.
The Forum on China-Africa Local Government Cooperation is jointly sponsored by the Chinese People’s Association for Friendship with Foreign Countries and Chinese –African People’s Friendship Association. Chinese State Councilor Yang Jiechi gave a speech at the opening ceremony, stressing local government cooperation to improve national relations.
