Mount Wutai holds 2015 China Temple Culture Development Summit

Co-organized by China Cultural Industrial Investment Fund, China Modern Literature and Art Association, Arts Today, Modern Education and other organizations, 2015 China Temple Culture Development Summit and Chinese poetry, calligraphy, and painting seminar was held in Mount Wutai from Aug 14 to 16.

More than 150 poets, painters, artists, and Masters attend attended the summit. The summit was chaired by Chen Wenming, vice president of Chinese poetry, calligraphy, and painting department, China Temple Culture Promotion Association.

On Aug 14, a Zen culture monument with a Zen poem written by Wu Jingchen, a famous Chinese calligrapher was unveiled. The unveiling ceremony was chaired by Shiyanming Master.

During the summit, Jin Xinguo said: “The temple culture has always been a unique part of Chinese culture and has penetrated into all aspects of our lives, such as astronomy, geography, architecture, painting, calligraphy, sculpture, music, dance, heritage, festivals, folklore and so on. The cultural part could not be removed from the temple. Culture innovation should BE based upon the traditional culture. In the economic globalization era today, we should clearly recognize the historical significance of Chinese traditional culture and make effort to inherit the traditional culture.”
