The city of Qingdao, Shandong province signed more than 10 cooperative agreements with UK businesses and government bodies, during the visit of a Qingdao delegation headed by city Party chief Li Qun from April 2 to 5, according to Qingdao Daily.
The visit was aimed at increasing collaboration with the UK in economy, finance, education and culture, according to Li.
Speaking at the China-UK economic cooperation forum, Li said that Qingdao was one of China's first four cities to reach out to the UK and that there are vast prospects for the two sides working together.
At the forum, 10 organizations from the UK and Qingdao were lauded for their contributions to enhance the investment trade between two countries.
During his stay, Li also met with local dignitaries and financial heavyweights, and hoped that Qingdao could draw on the experiences of the world's largest financial hub.
"London is a good model for China and both sides should expand cooperation to achieve positive results in wealth management organizations, market development, talent training and industry exchange," Li said during a meeting with the Lord Mayor of the City of London. |
