The government of Qingdao, Shandong province, signed a strategic cooperation framework agreement with IT multinational, Inspur Group, on April 12, to speed-up construction of Qingdao Science Park.

The deal includes co-building a cloud-computing and big data research and development base as well as a maker center at the park and cooperating on start-up incubation, talent training and cloud service for governmental affairs.

"Qingdao, as an important coastal city in China, is now actively adapting to the 'new normal' economy and accelerating the adjustment of industry structure through developing the 'Internet Plus' strategy and fostering new industries," said Li Qun, Party chief of Qingdao.

He spoke highly of Inspur's contributions to IT development and voiced his hope that both parties should deepen cooperation through creating an industry base leading in the domestic cloud computing and big data industries.

Sun Pishu, Inspur's president, said he agreed with Li's and pledged to make a greater contribution to the city's development.
