2011 China International Consumer Electronics Show ended over the weekend, attracting 523 global consumer electronics companies and hundreds of industry experts, including electronics giants Microsoft, AOC, Inspur and Da Nippon Printing Corporation.
About 100,000 visitors attended the four-day event from July 7 to 10.
The theme of the show was "linking the world and shaping the future through cloud computing."
The show displayed the latest technologies, products and ideas such as cloud computing, network integration, green and low-carbon concepts, mobile networks and multi-display interaction.The show explored new industrial structures and business patterns of the consumer electronics industry.
Jiang Yaoping, China's vice minister of commerce, has said that the country's electronic information industry has made great progress over the 30 years of reform and opening up and China has become the world's largest consumer electronics manufacturing base. It is also the second largest consumer electronics market, Jiang said, and the government plans to give the industry more policy support and ways to grow.
"China has an important role in the world's consumer electronics market. And there are more than 400 consumer electronics products on display at this year's show, which is a great leap forward from last year's," said Gary Shapiro, president and CEO of the Consumer Electronics Association (CEA).
Twenty-one summit forums were held during the four-day event, focusing on cloud computing, and popular theories in the electronics industry, as well as speeches on latest industrial topics such as digital cities, green manufacturing and smart appliances.
