Liao Zhenling, deputy director of the Qingyuan Tourism Bureau, visited the Feixia scenic zone recently with officials from the Planning Statistics Division and Tourist Information Centre. After investigating the scenic situations, Liao pointed out that Qingyuan tourism industry should lead the way to implement a "gateway" strategy, and speed up efforts to upgrade the industrial transition. Thus, a strong carrier is needed to build up the "moon project" in the tourism industry, enhance tourism competitiveness and establish a tourism image. Feixia scenic zone is rich in tourism resources including canyon and river sceneries, cultural landscapes, religion, boat trackers, stone carvings, and fudi (the blessed place of Taoism). The abundant tourism resources have provided a good platform to build a "moon project" in Qingyuan.

Thus, Liao emphasized that Feixia Scenic zone should speed up the pace for investment and exploitation as well as ecological protection and cultural preservation. He said that the single sightseeing tour should translate to international modern tourism, which includes comprehensive functions of health preservation, leisure resort, sport centers and businesses. Liao also encouraged the officials to make the Feixia Scenic zone an international leisure tourism resorts with high reputations at home and abroad.

Secondly, Qingyuan Tourism Bureau is going to have a scenic zone plan, design special tourism products and form industrial clusters on the base of different resources. The Tourism Bureau is planning to attract an experienced tourism investigator, exploit tourism resources and products, set up new functional orientations and establish relevant infrastructures. The new scenic zone will be built with international standards in infrastructure, management, and services.

In addition, Feixia scenic zone will take advantage of its rich history background and create a tourism brand themed "Fudi culture". The new scenic zone will combine the precious tourism elements of natural ecology, history civilization, religion cultures and demonstrate the extraordinary characteristics of the scenic zone.

As the administration department of tourism industry, Qingyuan Tourism Bureau has the responsibility to strengthen publicity and promote tourism resources. Liao said that they will continue to hold activities, create new tourism products and increase the tourism brand awareness at home and abroad.
