Updated: 2020-10-27

On the morning of Oct 23, Peru President Martin Vizcarra toured the Zacarias Hospital project, which was jointly undertaken by POWERCHINA and a local company.

Romulus Kelava, governor of Huancavilica, and Freddie Jordan, director of the National Medical Investment Program, accompanied the inspection tour.

The inspection tour was the second that the president has conducted after attending the project's groundbreaking ceremony. It was also the second POWERCHINA project that the president visited after an inspection tour of the San Michele Hospital project on Oct 6.

While maintaining strict COVID-19 epidemic prevention measures, President Vizcarra inspected the working areas of the project site. He said that the completion of the project will not only provide more convenient medical services for local residents, but will also create a large number of employment opportunities and make a significant contribution to local economic development.

The Zacarias Hospital project is located in Asuncion, Huancavilica province, Peru. This project is the fifth hospital project undertaken by POWERCHINA in Peru, and the owner of it is the National Medical Investment Planning Agency of Peru.

The hospital will have 32 outpatient rooms, 20 diagnosis rooms, and 169 inpatient beds. After the project is completed, the level and quality of local medical care will be greatly improved, benefiting 491,000 local residents.
