Hydropower

POWERCHINA has funded a number of power projects, such as the Heihetang, Shuanghe, Qinglong, Sichuan Leshan Shawan, Yadu, Liuping, Dajinping, Hongyi, and Maoergai hydropower stations, and Gansu Huating Thermal Power Plant, and holds shares of Yellow River Suzhi, Meiguhe Liuhong, Bailongjiang River Zilanba hydropower stations. The total installed capacity of POWERCHINA’s hydropower investment is 107,10 MW,among which 3570 MW is available for use, 1590 MW under construction; and 5550 MW at the preliminary study stage.

Hunan Taoyuan Hydropower Station, with a total installed capacity of 180 MW and an estimated total investment of 2.69 billion RMB, is under construction. The project gained governmental approval in August 2010. The first cofferdam was enclosed on Nov 17, 2012, and the second cofferdam on Oct 2, 2012. The first generator unit will be put into production in 2013.

Hydropower

The Heihetang Hydropower Station, on the lower reaches of the Heihe River, a primary tributary of the Baishuijiang River, in Sichuan province, has two units with a total installed capacity of 80 MW. The entire project is put on line in December 2006.

The Shuanghe Hydropower Station, on the upper reaches of the Baishuijian River, Sichuan Province, has three units and a total installed capacity of 81 MW. The entire project was put on line in June 2009.

The Qinglong Hydropower Station, on the main stream of the Baishui River, Sichuan Province, has three units and a total installed capacity of 102 MW. The entire project was put on line in July 2012.

The Nuozu Hydropower Station, on the middle reaches of the Nanpanjiang River’s main stream, has an installed capacity of 3 × 25 MW. The construction work began in December 2005; and the entire project was put on line in July 2009.

The Fenghuanggu Hydropower Station, on the lower reaches of the Nanpanjiang River, has a total installed capacity of 100 MW. The project was put on line in July 2009.
