According to the railway administration of Kunming, extra trains from Kunming to Dali, Lijiang and Mengzi will be run to meet the increasing demand during the summer holiday, Xinhua.net reported.

From Aug 2 to Sep 30, train services between Lijiang and Dali will also be increased.

A record 3.48 million passengers took the railway from Kunming in July and the average daily passenger flow reached 112,000. Statistics show that the passengers are mostly tourists and students who visit Dali, Lijiang and Mengzi.

In August, Yunnan's transportation system is having to accommodate waves of peak traffic as travelers make their way home and students go back to school at the same time.

With the temperature going up, cities in Yunnan have become a favorite destination for tourists looking for cooler weather.
