The Old Town of Lijiang is a good place to celebrate Spring Festival.
Clothing
There is a significant temperature difference between day and night, and the air is dry. The area sees temperatures of around 0 C at night and 17 C in the day, so visitors should bring jackets and sweaters.
Food Local food, such as Lijiang fried cakes and jellies, is delicious, but tasty hamburgers and ice cream are also available. The two ice cream shops on Sifang Street are worth a try.
Lodging
Lodging in the old town is cheaper than in the new town. The price for a double room is 80 yuan ($12.84) per day. Individual washrooms are not common in the inns and hotels in the old town as they are harmful to the environment. Public bathrooms are more commonly seen. The night is extremely quiet and tranquil. Sanhe Hotel is the only place that provides heating facilities in the urban area of Lijiang.
Transportation
There are many bus lines in Lijiang. Traffic jams are rare and not a big concern.
To visit other cities near Lijiang, such as Dali and Kunming, a coach is a good option. The coach center is located in the south part of Lijiang.
