Updated: 2016-09-05
The Michelin Shenyang Tire Co was established in 1995 and is one of Michelin Group's largest tire production bases in China, with production covering car tires and truck and bus tires. Over the past decade, the remarkable achievements of Michelin Shenyang received attention and recognition. Michelin Group again added investment and continued to expand the scale of production. In 2013, the new plant of Michelin Shenyang Tire Co, located in the Shenyang Economic and Technological Development Zone, was put into operation with a total investment of nearly $1.5 billion. The event signifies that Michelin's high-performance radial tire environmental removal & renovation and expansion project has reached a milestone. It also represents the establishment of the largest project owned by Michelin in China.
Michelin's new plant in Shenyang is mainly engaged in the production of high-performance and green tires. As Michelin Group's largest investment project in China, the new plant's annual production capacity for car light truck tires as well as truck and bus tires will exceed 12 million. Wherein the care light truck tires are mainly high-performance tires, in maintaining load bearing and speed performance, the weight will be reduced 10 percent to lower rolling resistance and energy consumption. Both truck and bus tires are high-performance radial tires and are mainly tubeless tires. The tube tire production capacity can be flexibly adjusted in response to market demand to produce the tubeless tires.
While expanding production capacity to meet growing market demand, Michelin introduced Michelin’s global advanced technology, equipment and production process. By optimizing the layout of production capacity, bringing the tire environmental solution throughout production and recycling tires, Shenyang new plant's energy efficiency and environmental protection performance have significantly improved. The production flow in the new plant is fully automated and has adopted a one-time mixing process, nitrogen technology and other advanced technology to effectively realize energy consumption and environmentally friendly production.
