Shenyang Aerospace Mitsubishi Motors Engine Manufacturing Co, established in August 1997, is a Sino-foreign joint venture invested by five companies from China, Japan and Malaysia: China Aerospace Automobile Co (30 percent share), Mitsubishi Motors Corporation (25 percent share), Shenyang Jianhua Automobile Engine Co (21 percent share), Sino-Malaysia Investment Holdings Limited (14.7 percent share), Mitsubishi Corporation (9.3 percent share). The registered capital of the company is 738.25 million yuan ($120.13 million), and its total assets are 3.01 billion yuan (by the end of Dec 2012). It’s located in Hunan New District of Shenyang, Liaoning province, covering an area of 306,049 square meters. It is the only engine manufacturer authorized by the Mitsubishi Trademark Committee to legally use the Mitsubishi logo in China.
The company employs 1,041 employees, including 143 engineers and technicians and 103 management personnel at all levels.
The company has a cylinder body production line; cylinder covers and main bearing cap machines; a cylinder cover casting production line; and an engine assembly line. In 2012, its annual sales of engines reached 465,018 units. The vehicles, equipped with Mitsubishi engines, have been exported to many countries in the Middle East, Europe and other regions, and in 2006, the single engine was exported to the United States.
The company has passed the ISO/TS16949 quality management system certification and the ISO14001 and OHSAS 18001 environmental and safety system certification. It is also a Class-A enterprise in terms of national safety standardization production. Its products meet the supplier quality system and environmental safety requirements from the international automotive industry.
The company introduced engine manufacturing technologies of Japan Mitsubishi Motors 4G6 Series (2.0/2.4L), 4G6 MIVEC (variable valve timing and lift technology) Series (2.0/2.4L) and A9 MIVEC series (1.1/1.3/1.5/1.6L). Its products feature environmental protection and energy conservation, with low fuel consumption, strong power, stability and durability. Their emissions has reached the National IV Standard. The A9 series engine introduced in 2007 is high performance, lightweight and environmentally friendly. After being produced and sold in Germany, it is the second company in the world and the first company in Asia to manufacture and sell such an engine.
