At the opening of the annual Jilin provincial People's Congress session, on Jan 26, the provincial governor addressed the gathering and gave a work report of the coming year that gave priority to steady growth.

Jiang Chaoliang also vowed to put a great emphasis on Jilin's socio-economic development, and to improve its economy in this first year of the 13th Five-year Plan.

In making his point, Jiang also resolved to follow the law in trying to meet people's expectations, and spoke of keeping GDP growth at around 6.5-7 percent this year, a slight increase over last year's 6.5 percent.

Other items on the agenda are people's livelihood, coordination for balanced regional development, and further adaptation to the new economic normal.
