A team of 750 volunteers has been established for the 2019 World Internet of Things Exposition, and they will provide guidance and assistance to attendees during the event.
The organizer of the WIOT 2019, which opens on Sept 7 in Wuxi, Jiangsu province, said the volunteer team will help to ensure the smooth running of the event. The volunteers have been recruited from local universities, institutions and professional organizations.
Among the 750 volunteers, 520 are students from Wuxi Taihu University, and 170 are from the local government. The rest are 30 emergency rescuers, 20 interpreters and 10 photographers. They are spread across 45 posts.
"Volunteers will try their best to provide quality services such as guidance and logistical support so as to allow participants to easily find their way around," the organizer said.
In addition to providing basic services, the volunteer service station at the WIOT 2019 will have infant nursing rooms.
The WIOT 2019 will be held at the Wuxi Taihu International Convention and Exhibition Center, and there will be a free shuttle bus service from Wuxi Railway Station to the convention center.
Attendees can also take Bus 133 from the railway station's north square or Express Shuttle 5 from the south square to East Civic Center station, then transfer to Bus 130 to Taihu International Convention and Exhibition Center station. Participants can also take subway Line 1 to Jinkui Park station.
