The 2019 Light Art Festival is combining modern technology with imaginative and artful displays that will delight visitors by lighting up Wuxi Plum Garden from Sept 6 to Oct 8, according to the organizers.
Visitors are welcome to enjoy the light extravaganza displayed by various devices installed at Plum Garden during the coming Mid-Autumn holiday and National Day holiday.
In order to celebrate the 70th anniversary of the People's Republic of China, this year's festival will present a themed lantern show consisting of nearly 20 colored lantern groups, the highest positioned group reaching up 13 meters and the longest group stretching some 140 meters.
The lanterns were intricately constructed by more than one hundred skillful craftsmen from Zigong, the home of Chinese traditional lanterns, over a period of a month.
Focusing on energy conservation and environmental protection, the craftsmen adopted a large number of new LEDs, comprehensively enhancing the night effect of the lamp group while staying true to the original production techniques.
Based on the landscape at Plum Garden, a 3D projection performance using laser projectors will create forest scenery that changes to show the seasons. Visitors will see virtual animals running between trees, cavorting in a magical, fantastical world.
Electrifying visual effects will also be seen with a dazzling laser show on water and on land as well as in the air – combining projection and laser technologies and integrating elements such as sounds, lighting, as well as water, shadow and fog.
Top performers from home and abroad will stage Wuqiao acrobatic performances at Helan Square from 7:30-9:10 pm every night.
Plum Garden has also installed a parent-child amusement park with new facilities for family fun, open from 6:30-9:30 pm every night.
