The Affiliated Hospital of Jiangnan University in Wuxi of Jiangsu province, the former Wuxi No 3 People's Hospital, has been substantially upgrading its technology with the help of internet of things since 2011.
The hospital adopted a mobile nursing information system early in 2014, which highly improved the accuracy and efficiency of its management. The system was upgraded to its fourth generation recently, enabling it to achieve smart management including new functions such as infusion monitoring.

The hospital is also the first in Wuxi to use an online diagnosis and treatment platform. According to a spokesman, patients can contact doctors online for consultations and follow-up through the platform. In addition, commonly used drugs can be delivered to patients via express delivery.
The hospital also took the lead in the province to join "Yishiyun" – a joint diagnosis and treatment platform headquartered in Beijing.
The platform has linked up with a number of high-level hospitals across the country, in a bid to bring together experts to discuss difficult diseases.
