Wu Qimin, a Yixing purple clay master, was listed in the Jiangsu Provincial Talents and Skills Master Studio project.
Born in Yixing, home of purple clay, Wu started learning the traditional skill in her teens and has devoted her life to the art. She enjoys a strong reputation among other reputed purple clay masters.
Aiming to preserve the traditional skill, Wu spent three months training 21 students for a new generation of purple clay art.
The students' works were displayed in Yixing Redware Craft Factory on Aug 2, showcasing their progress and achievements to visitors.
