Wuxi launched a micro-video contest at Wuxi Studios on Aug 6, inviting netizens to show the city's beauty through the lens of their own camera.
Participants must shoot a video less than three minutes in length which focuses on the city's natural landscapes, culture, or modern industries. The video files (under 200 M) should then be sent to the official e-mail address (jnsddsp@163.com) between Aug 6 and Sept 20.
All works will be reviewed by experts and voted on online. A total of 16 winners, including one first prize, five second prizes, and 10 third prizes, will be announced and awarded.
The coming 2019 World Internet of Things Expo also announced a micro-video event on the popular Chinese short video platform Douyin, known as TikTok overseas.
Held from Aug 6 to Sept 10, the event invites participants to take videos about how internet of things technologies change their daily life and upload it with relevant hashtags on the Douyin app. Winners will be awarded mobile phones and cleaning robots.
Wuxi, a typical Jiangnan (south of the Yangtze River) city, also known as the pearl of Taihu Lake, is noted for its beautiful scenery, cultural relics, modern industry and commerce. It is the birth place of the local culture of the Wu region.
