A key conference on the development and construction of national cultural export centers and policies on cultural trade was held in Wuxi, in Jiangsu province, on June 27.
Representatives from the first batch of 13 national cultural export bases attended the conference, officials said.
These included delegates from Beijing Tianzhu Comprehensive Bonded Area, Shanghai's Xuhui district, Wuxi in Jiangsu province, China (Zhejiang) Film and Television Industry International Cooperation Zone, Hefei's Shushan district in Anhui province, Zibo's Bosan district in Shandong province and Changsha in Hunan province.
There were also representatives from Guangzhou's Tianhe district in Guangdong province, Zigong in Sichuan province, Kunming in Yunnan province, Tibet Cultural Tourism Park, Xi'an Hi-tech Development Zone and the Xiamen branch of the China (Fujian) Free Trade Polite Area.
Yuan Fei, director of the Wuxi Municipal Publicity Department, attended the conference and said the culture industry was developing rapidly and was distinctive in Wuxi. The Wuxi Sunac Resort, he mentioned, opened on June 29 and is expected to be a hot destination.
"We will continue to promote exports cultural products and services with a Wuxi flavor," Yuan said.
The total revenue of cultural trade imports and exports in Wuxi reached 8.2 billion yuan ($1.2 billion) in 2018.
