The city of Chattanooga, United States, and Wuxi became sister cities on October 12, 1982.
It is the 4th largest city in the State of Tennessee, with an area of 329 square kilometers and a population of 167,674. It is also ranked the 12th industrial city in the country with its sound development intextile industry, metal processing, chemical engineering, mechanical instruments, garment manufacturing, paper manufacturing and leather processing. Meanwhile tourism is one of the mainstay industries in Chattanooga.
