The city of Cascais, Portugal, and Wuxi became sister cities on September 14, 1993, when Mr. Rong Yiren, the former-Vice President of China, attended and witnessed the sister-city agreement signing ceremony.
About 30 kilometers away from the western part of Lisbon, the capital of Portugal, Cascais is the 3rd largest city in Portugal with an area of 100 square kilometers and a population of 184,000.
