Wuxi and Ulsan, South Korea signed to become sister cities on September 27, 2014.
Located in the southeastern part of the Korean Peninsula, Ulsan spans an area of 1,057 kilometers, 1.74 times of its capital Seoul. Its population is 1.16million, ranked the seventh in the country.
With friendly climate and geographic conditions, Ulson is a harbor city linked with other harbors includingUlson, Onsan and Bangeojin in Ulsan-man. Taehwagang River runs through Ulsan.
Being an industrial capital of South Korea, Ulsan’s GDP per capital is over $50,000, more than double the two times of the average national GDP by 2012. Some giant firms are located in Ulsan, such as Hyundai Motor Manufactory, Hyundai Heavy Industries’ manufacturing site, the largest shipyard in the world, as well as SK Energy Co. Ltd., the largest petroleum firm in South Korea.
