Wuxi became the sister city of Bycirklen Commonwealth on May 8, 2009.
Bycirklen Commonwealth is a combination of Ballerup Kommune, Egedal Kommune and Frederikssund Kommune, spanning an area of 467.73 square kilometers and a population of 130,000. The main districtsof these three cities are respectively 15kilometers, 35 kilometers and 50 kilometers in distance to northwestern Copenhagen, the capital of Denmark. Also, from these three cities it takes only 30, 45 and 60 minutes to the capital by taking the west-line light railroad. The airport in Copenhagen cooperates with120 airports throughout the world.
As an area of new emerging industries, housing and business, Bycirklen Commonwealth boasts of the fastest development among the region of Copenhagen with its GDP per capital reaching $47,000 and an annual earning per household of $79,000 .
Bycirklen Commonwealth is located in Oresund, one of the most active economic areas. In Oresund, 28% of its people have graduated from high education institutions, which in turn contribute to it having the highest rate of educated people in northern Europe, thus the most successful region combing industry, academic education and research.
