A group of performers and local residents in Wuxi gave a special performance among a sea of pink cherry blossoms in Yuantouzhu scenic area to mark the 70th anniversary of the founding of People's Republic of China.
Singers and citizens, ranging in age from toddlers to grandparents, all waved Chinese flags in time to the song My Motherland and Me, one of the most patriotic songs in China. The lyrics of the song are believed to be inspired by the beautiful landscapes in the region.

The flash mob event was jointly organized by Wuxi Municipal Publicity Department and the Wuxi Municipal Cyberspace Administration. A video recording was also taken of the event to surprise the public and allow them to sing the praises of the motherland along with visitors in Yuantouzhu.
The city is at its tourist season peak right now, with people from around the country visiting to see the blooming April cherry flowers.
