In order to meet the demands of the technologically evolving times and serve the national internet power strategy, Jiangnan University in Wuxi, East China's Jiangsu province, unveiled the Jiangnan University-Wuxi Internet Communication Research Center on March 21.
Officials from Jiangnan University and the Wuxi government as well as leaders from local media attended the inauguration ceremony.

Dai Yuebo, vice-secretary of Jiangnan University's Party committee, pointed out that the center will integrate the advantageous resources of Jiangnan University to make original, high-quality and practical achievements in Wuxi's internet field.
"The center is an internet social organization to leverage the social influence and an array of talents of Jiangnan University as well as domestic institutes and experts, in a bid to enhance the cultural exchange and innovation in the industry," said Cai Wenyu, deputy director of Wuxi Municipal Publicity Department.
During the ceremony, a total of 15 experts in the internet or related fields and leaders from Wuxi's major new media were employed as experts of the research center.
Jiangnan University, a national key "211 Project" university, has always attached great importance to the cooperation and common development with local government.
To date, the university has established a number of research centers jointly with Wuxi's government to meet the needs of local economic and social development.
