A tour of the Yangtze River Ecological Security Demonstration Zone
Relying on its unique geographical advantages, Jiangyin focuses on green development, mountains, water along and the ecological environment.
Water
Jiangyin has a plan to build four riverside parks along the city’s 20-kilometer waterfront. Shipyard Park and Shiyu Port Park have been completed and opened to the public. Jiucai Port Park is currently under construction, while Huangtian Port Park is expected to be completed in September of next year. Jiangyin Riverside Parks will be connected into one park with a total length of four kilometers, situated along the south bank of the Yangtze River.
By 2020, Xicheng (Wuxi-Jiangyin) Canal Park is expected to be completed, which will form ecological and water-friendly shorelines around the 30-kilometer main urban area of Jiangyin, along the Grand Canal and the Yangtze River.

The first phase of the Jiangyin Greenway overpass was completed in early 2019. It has a total length of five kilometers and provides a foot path for local residents.
By 2020, the city will build a 30-kilometer ring greenway overpass, aiming to link eight parks across the city. It will cover an area of 10,000 mu and will become a green ecological corridor for the city.
Mountain
In the future, a ring forest park covering 83 kilometers will be built for local residents.
Jiangyin city plans to create a beautiful urban ecological landscape by focusing on ecological restoration and high-quality green development.
